James Riley settled in East Texas, Burnett Colony (1830s). At the time,Texas was still part of Northern Mexico. He eventually moved the family to Gillespie County (1850s). His Son, D.C. Riley built the rock home we live in today (1870s). The family has been active in farming and ranching at this location for six generations.

We named our ranch after C. W. Riley, Tina's father. C. W. Riley was an avid outdoors man. With his guidence, we have continued to managed our low fenced lease for hunting since the 1950s.

This area has been an active hunting ground since prehistoric times. There are Native American camp sites of archaeological significance.

Looking forward: The ranch will continue to be an asset for the State and our family.
